My Music Postcard is titled "Cha Cha Cha".
The first idea came to me was movement, which means dancing. I didn't want to make a literal interpretation so, I thought of manipulating fabric to give the feeling of movement. I've seen art quilts that have wavy pleats and thought that they would be fun to try. First I painted free form stripes on pfd fabric but the painted fabric was too stiff to manipulate and sew. Then I decided to use some bright stripe fabric I had in my stash. It was easier to work with. I hope it conveys the feeling of movement.
From Eileen:
What is an earworm? It is the song that keeps playing in your head over and over again. Lately mine has been "Blues for Baby and Me" by Elton John. This postcard is my take on that theme. I painted the image with Tsukineko Inks, did some thread painting, and adhered decorative papers to it. The edge is just a fun silly yarn. What's your earworm?
I Love it - thank you Eileen, deborah
From Trish:

Here is a photo of my music postcard that I sent to Cynthia Catlin.
Happy Stitching

From Johanne:
"Music Zentangle" postcard I received from Johanne. It is a wonderfully creative postcard using black and white fabrics in different sized prints in a very cool layout. Music sheet fabric sweeps across the middle, with the notes going right off the page. Very nice!

From Teresa:
Yesterday I received an adorable, very playful and cheery quilt from Teresa called "Polka Dot Jazz". I'm displaying it in my family room and just can't help smiling every time I see it. Thanks Teresa. mb
From Cynthia:
"Saxophonic Melody"
Jazz soothes my soul and my spirit. It allows me to have private conversations, reflection time and calm moments. Grover Washington was a master artist of the saxophone. He blended sounds like no one else could. This fiber postcard is a celebration of all the magnificent songs of inspiration performed by Grover. Cynthia Catlin
I received "Saxophonic Melody" from Cynthia today. The design and colors used perfectly convey the feeling of jazz. I swear that I can hear Grover Washington playing his sax. The personal note on the back is a wonderful touch. I will cherish this soulful piece of art. Thank you, Cynthia! Mia
From Mary Beth:

From Linda:
"The Sprit Soars to Music"…When I work in my studio, I often play music which frees my mind from the mundane bonds of everyday living and lets me rejoice in the gift of creative time. I have rarely used pinks in my artwork but a lullaby led the paint brush to pinks and golds and greens and blues and whites and thoughts of a baby's dream world. I drew and cut stencils for the bird, treble clef and star shapes and stamped little circles with a bottle cap lid and the edges are finished with a roping of twisted yarns. After the postcard was finished, I added a touch of glitter sparkle to further light up the sky. Linda Friedman
